Abstract
In the present research, the National Curriculum (Sect.: Science Education) of China and the Courses of Study of Japan were comparatively studied in the level of elementary school education. In the Courses of Study, fundamental scientific skills and problem-solving abilities were taken up as an important element of teaching programs. On the other hand, in the National Curriculum, scientific intelligences and practical uses towards daily living lives and industrial producing articles were adopted as an important element. Although the science education lesson in China starts at the first grade in elementary school, the science education lesson in Japan does at the third grade. However, the science education lessons in a year was larger numerically in total units in Japanese curriculum than in those of Chinese curriculum.
