Condensed phase with internal structure
Motions of a vapor in a two dimensional space due to evaporation process occurring at the interface of the condensed phase have been studied based on the fluid dynamic formulation. The condensed phase, which is embedded in a plane adiabatic solid wall of infinite expanse, has a temperature field as its internal structure because of its thermal conductivity being finite compared to that of its vapor. Owing to this internal structure, the temperature of the interface itself can not be specified beforehand in the boundary conditions, which complicates the problem. The present study, which is a trial in dealing with two-dimensional problems of this kind, is concerned with one of the prototype problems with particular attention being paied to the effects of the finite thermal conductivity ratio of the condensed phase on the flow fields.
