The solutions are prepared from chlorides of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, Mn, Al and Fe. Cation-exchange resins used are Amberlite IR-120, Diaion SK#1 and Dowex 50W-X8, each being strong acid exchangers of polystyrene. Concentration of sample solutions os from 0.1N to 0.01N, and an exchanger of 0.3~0.5gr in weight is mixed with 25~150ml solution in each experiment. After leaving the solution at least for one night, the cation in the solution is determined by means of chelatometry. Three exchangers give almost the same behavior on cation-exchange equilibrium. The selective coefficient of cations is as follows next, and Fe is the largest of all. The smaller concentration of the solution is, the larger is the selective coefficient.
