This study aimed to determine the current state of research on information and communication technology （ICT） in older adults in Japan. We searched for original articles published in Japanese journals from January 2017 to September 2022 using the terms “older adult” and “ICT” and identified 27 articles. We evaluated the articles by quantitative text mining with KH Coder （ver. 3.0） software; we conducted term frequency, co-occurrence network, and hierarchical cluster analyses and labeled each cluster according to its contents. Regarding term frequency, the extracted words were “utilization,” “older adult,” and “health.” In the co-occurrence network analysis, the word with the highest betweenness centrality was “utilization.” The hierarchical cluster analysis identified 5 clusters, which we named as follows: ［Relationship between Internet utilization rate and health condition among older adults］，［ Influence of ICT utilization］，［ Increase of the using ICT health checkups and characteristics of the object］,［ Upsides and downsides of the use of ICT］， and［ ICT literacy education for older adults and support for safe and secure living］. In the future, we need to achieve a new digital society with an improved ICT environment where older adults can live healthy, safe, and comfortable lives unaffected by the digital divide. |
